Fall Festival Parade

I just wanted to thank all of you that were able to come to the parade! We missed you girls that weren't able to come, but we understand. I posted these pictures on our facebook page, but I will post them here as well.

Before we left I snapped a shot of our banner, with the leaders (Jana and I) daughters, Serena and Isabelle.

I (Krista) was able to be there, we missed our other leader, Jana. She wasn't feeling well, hope she gets better soon! This is Zoe, Serena, Riley, Isabelle, Madison, and Sophia.

Thanks to the Juniors we had extra signs, so along with our banner, everyone had something to hold!

We had to wait awhile, so I snapped some pictures. Finally we started to march, the girls got kinda tired there at the end, but they all did such a great job!

Thank you again girls! I'll see you at our next meeting!

Have fun selling the Fall Product. Remember, it's due back by the 23rd, and collect the money as you sell. Since you'll be on fall break, we will probably set up a box at the school office. We will keep you posted!

Honest and fair- Earning our light blue petal

This is Lupe, the Lupine, and she taught us today about being honest and fair, the first part of the Girl Scout Law. We read a story today, where Lupe and her friends learned to take turns at playing games. Then, when the flowers got a package, Lupe chose to wait and share the cheese inside the package with her friends. Rather than eating it in secret, and lying, she waited and gave everyone a fair share.

So, today we made 'helping hands', we use our helping hands to be honest and fair in all that we do. The magnets can hang on the fridge, to remind them of that! :)

We also took turns playing games, practicing how to be honest and fair, by taking turns. I think a favorite was duck duck goose.

We also snapped a troop photo, which will be undated once we all get our tunics. :)

We enjoyed spending time with these precious girls, each unique in their own way. This is new to Jana and I, so we appreciate your patience as we get into a rhythm. If you ever have questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call us.

If you didn't get with us about whether you will be there, please either email, text, or call us. We need to know how many girls will be coming. Tunic or not, we would love to see your little girls adorable face!

Our first meeting

Well, we had our first meeting last night, and it was pretty crazy! We were happy to meet all of our daisies though, and can't wait to get to know them! We found out we'll have twelve sweet little faces to greet every two weeks, and we hope they can attend!

Thank you to the parent's that came and filled out all the papers, and patiently let us explain everything to them. I know we're excited to have so many volunteers, and we may be contacting you soon about helping out! For those of you that got a folder sent home and couldn't make it, we want you to know you are welcome at any meeting, but if you can't attend we understand! Please fill out the forms, and send them back at our next meeting (Sept 26th 3-4:15pm).

Looking ahead to the next meeting....

Pictures will be taken at our next meeting, since we will be starting into our projects! We will be starting with earning our petals, and if you open your folders you will find a paper that explains what each one means. We have decided that since there are ten petals, we will be doing half of them this year and the other half next year.

The first petal is Lupe, and she stands for honest and fair, which is the first part of the Girl Scout Law. The girls will be doing activities and acting out ways to be honest and fair.

Helpful Links-

For those of you that I didn't get to, or that missed the meeting, here are some helpful links you may need-

I have linked this to the page of essentials, if you want you can get the starter stuff. Most of the badges we will be earning will probably be provided by troop funds. We would like for you to buy the tunic/vest to start with. Also, I (Krista) will be going to the store on a monthly basis, so if you need me to pick something up please sent the money in an envelope, written on the outside who its for (Krista Terry is me) and how much (what its for)-   Girl Scout store

A facebook page has been created, for reminders and to keep in touch- Daisy Facebook page

If there are ever any questions you can contact Jana or I, via the facebook page, or you can give me a call- 812-614-9029 (call or text).

I know we want to work with all of you to make this a fun learning experience for the girls!

Introductory post

Hello Daisies and Daisy parents!

I know my co-leader and I are so pleased to meet all of you! Jana and I are new to all of this, but we look forward to learning and growing with you all! We want you to know if you ever have any questions, please don't be afraid to ask!

First, my name is Krista Terry, known to some people as Kris, but you can call me whatever you are comfortable with. I live in an apartment in Greensburg, near the school. I have a little girl of my own that will be in the troop, Serena, and we're excited to take this journey together! We have two cats, and love to garden! Serena's step dad, Josh, is a truck driver, and gets to travel all over the country with his job.

Jana, my lovely co-leader, lives near me, and we are good friends! She works at Wal-mart, you may see her from time to time! She also has a little girl, Isabelle, who will be joining us in the troop. Isabelle's daddy works in town, and gets to take furniture to people!

I will post after our meetings, events, or field trips, to make sure everyone gets to be involved in this wonderful new experience! If everyone is alright with it, I will be taking pictures, and posting them as often as I can!

Please feel free to comment, share, or subscribe via email, to this blog.

Have a wonderful day! Go daisies!
